According to Microsoft, the Sidewinder is a revolutionary mouse that has been created to enhance performance, adaptability, and handling. The design of the mouse is quite similar to a bat-mobile or one of the advanced concept cars. The mouse has a long shape that provides space for palm rest and comes with curved side grips. The Sidewinder has a smooth black finish with a burgundy strip in the center around the scroll wheel.
The Microsoft Sidewinder mouse has a built-in LCD to display current dpi settings as well as macro recording icons. A 2000 dpi laser eye combined with three dedicated buttons for making dpi switching easy is one of the primary features of the mouse. The functionality of the mouse makes it easier to also record macros within the software included with the package or even while playing a game. There are in total ten buttons on the Sidewinder out of which five are programmable.
The Microsoft Sidewinder offers options for customization to fit individual preferences. A weight cartridge is included with the mouse and can be used to adjust the weight. The cartridge can be inserted on the side of the mouse and supports three separate weights in increments of 5g and 10g. The SideWinder also has 3 types of interchangeable feet that allow various levels of glide and friction. The 3 types of feet include Teflon mix, Teflon, and non-Teflon.
Our Take:
The Sidewinder has several features like 2000dpi for higher speed and the 180 degree turn capability using a single button. But this mouse is best for non-FPS gamers only. The drawback is the design issue and the high price tag.Microsoft Sidewinder prices:
