One of the newest entrants in the technologically redefined mouse category is the Razer Diamondback 3G gaming mouse. The Diamondback is one of the oldest mice ever created by Razer. Earlier it was available as an optical mouse but with some technological changes, it is now being introduced as a third generation (3G) infrared mouse.
The Razer Diamondback 3G has a nice and rounded shape with a smooth feel especially on the underside. It has two customizable buttons and houses a total of 7 buttons to allow maximum customization. The Diamondback 3G operates via gold-plated USB cable and comes with a software CD for quick and easy installation.
The most prominent feature of the Razer Diamondback 3G is the 1800 dpi 3G infrared sensor, which enables it to move 2.5 times faster than the 800 dpi optical sensor mouse. It also has a built-in On-The-Fly Sensitivity™ adjustment that will help in switching sensitivity settings in the middle of a game. Some of the other salient features of the Razer Diamondback 3G include Always-On mode, 16-bit ultra-wide data path, 6400 frames per second (5.8 megapixels per second), 60-120 inches per second and 15g of acceleration, and a Scroll wheel with 24 individual click positions.
The approximate size of the Diamondback 3G is 129mm (length) x 63mm (width) x 38.5mm (height).
