The SteelSeries Ikari laser mouse has been created to not only improve gaming but make it perfect. The functionalities added in the Ikari mouse is a result of 15 months of hardcore research and development. Most of the research and development conducted for the creation of the mouse was to make it perfect as a gaming mouse for those who love to play MMO/RTS (Massively multiplayer online/Real time strategy) as well as FPS (First Person Shooter).

The functionality of the SteelSeries Ikari laser mouse that enables MMO/RTS/FPS gaming is the 3,200 CPI (counts per inch) with manual CPI adjustments that offers perfect sensitivity. The mouse has a built-in CPI high/low indicator as well. Another important feature of the Ikari is the 40.000 SPS (samples per second), which enables unbeatable tracking.

The SteelSeries Ikari laser mouse comes with a built-in LCD display to help users set different CPI values on-the-fly. Like most of the other SteelSeries mice, the Ikari has programmable macro buttons with driverless plug-and-play feature.

The overall design of the mouse is simple, rounded, and smooth and has large pressure points for reducing friction so that there is an optimized glide. The Ikari laser mouse comes with the SteelSeries FreeMove Technology, which enables the mouse to be moved freely during long hours of game playing. The SteelSeries Ikari mouse is compatible with Win XP/Vista/Win 2000/Win 98/Win ME/Mac OS and can be navigated with ease.

Our Take:

The price tag is a little higher and it is like most of the standard gaming mice. Doesn’t impress much but it is easy to use and offers fluid performance.
