The SteelSeries Ikari optical mouse is targeted at hardcore gamers especially those who love FPS (First Person Shooter) games. One of the surprising aspects is that the Ikari optical mouse comes in the same packing as the Ikari laser mouse. The packing contains a driver’s CD, a user’s manual and a sticker. The Ikari optical mouse is less driver dependent than the Ikari laser mouse.

The shape and design of the Ikari optical mouse is the same as the Ikari laser mouse except for the color, which is brighter. The shape is ergonomic and has been designed to fit into small as well as large hands with ease. The shape provides good support to the palms and the buttons are placed in the right spots to enable long hours of game playing.

The SteelSeries Ikari optical mouse has a high / low sensitivity button. Users can easily define the CPI number from 400-1600 cpi (counts per inch). Apart from the lift-off problem, the biggest drawback is that the Ikari Optical is meant for right handed gamers. The good news is that it is perfect for low sensitivity gamers thanks to the precise and balanced glide.
